“Ah Guoguo is very wise,” Yin Yao said. He reached out and patted Tang Guo on the head, his hand sliding to her cheek at the end, and before he could stop himself, he gave it a gentle pinch.
Tang Guo looked at him with a smile. “High Priest, is my face easy to pinch?”
Startled, Yin Yao quickly withdrew his hand, his expression a little unnatural.
“Let’s go tell the Chief about this method and have the tribe members prepare,” he said.
With the large blade in one hand, Yin Yao led Tang Guo down the mountain, instinctively holding her hand with the other. He did not question where Ah Guoguo had found the blade. He did not feel the need to doubt her.

Yin Yao quickly found Black Wolf with Tang Guo and explained her plan in detail. Black Wolf was naturally delighted and immediately led the tribe members to start digging pits.
They calculated the time. If they dug pits around the entire mountain, there would not be enough time. Digging only the front area was still possible, but that meant the back of the mountain would be exposed to danger.
“There are rolling stones above,” Tang Guo said. “If beasts attack from the back, use the stones to deal with them.”
Only then did Black Wolf feel reassured and organize the tribe members to get to work.
Seeing that the tribe members often injured the soles of their feet while working, Ning Luo was the first to make a very simple pair of shoes out of animal hide for Gaien. They did not look good, but they protected his feet from being cut.
Later, this method spread, and the entire tribe began making shoes from animal hide to wear on their feet.
After that, they discovered that the soles could be made from other materials, such as wooden boards. The blade Tang Guo had found could shave wood into thin pieces, which could then be tied to animal hide with cords. They were more comfortable to wear. Wooden soles were indeed more durable and could be replaced easily, so there was no need to frequently change the animal hide. The Beastmen liked this very much.
During this time, members of the other two tribes also arrived.
They joined in digging the pits. Seeing that the Lado Tribe members were all wearing shoes, they asked about them. When they learned that the shoes were invented by Gaien’s female, the way they looked at Ning Luo every time was filled with respect.
Later, when they heard that Ning Luo had also suggested to Black Wolf that they be allowed to live in the cave, they felt even more grateful to her. Whenever they saw Ning Luo, they would greet her with friendly smiles.
Because of the pit digging, the outer living areas were no longer expanded. As long as they were not attacked by wild beasts, those details no longer mattered.
Once the pits were finished and the traps set, a layer of dry grass was spread over them. From a distance, it was indeed impossible to tell that there was a large pit hidden beneath.
Inside the cave, some members of the other two tribes did squeeze in. Most of them were younglings who could not transform into human form, those who had not yet reached adulthood, and females who were nursing. Perhaps because the Beast Tide was approaching, no conflicts broke out for the time being, and everyone got along reasonably well.
