Yin Yao realized that bringing this little female along hadn’t been a mistake at all. How had he never noticed before that Ah Guoguo was this smart?
The herbs he had taught her to recognize, she could identify right away and pick on her own. She was much sharper than the other beastmen in the tribe.
After discovering how clever this little female was, Yin Yao didn’t hold back. While gathering herbs, he taught Tang Guo how to identify them.
In truth, Tang Guo didn’t need to learn, but since she was now Ah Guoguo, she enjoyed spending time with Yin Yao like this. It was a special kind of pleasure.
At least for now, the tribe was still relatively peaceful.
As the sky darkened, the group prepared to return to the tribe. Before it got completely dark, the members who had gone out to search for Ning Luo also returned.
Even Gaien, who had been unwilling to come back, was carried back by Black Wolf, who tossed him into a cave and had someone keep watch over him to prevent him from sneaking out at night and putting himself in danger.
For several days in a row, Tang Guo went out to gather herbs with Yin Yao. When the tribe members heard that Tang Guo could identify herbs, they cheered, thinking she was incredibly smart, and began looking at her with greater respect.
In their eyes, if Ah Guoguo could learn the High Priest’s skills, it would be a very good thing for the entire tribe.
Every day, members went out to search for Ning Luo. Gradually, even Black Wolf gave up. The only ones still going daily were Gaien and Aimo.
Perhaps because Aimo was still willing to keep searching at this time, Gaien’s attitude toward him improved considerably.
This was the turning point. Later, when Ning Luo began to like Aimo, Gaien did not object and even helped Aimo integrate with them.
There was still no news of Ning Luo. Gaien looked lifeless, and many of the female beastmen in the tribe were worried, though none could persuade him. This only deepened their dissatisfaction toward Ning Luo.
By now, more than half a month had passed. There was a little over a month left before the beast tide.
Tang Guo narrowed her eyes. In a few days, Gaien should be able to find Ning Luo.
She thought for a moment, then headed to Yin Yao’s stone house. She pushed the door open without hesitation. It wasn’t like she needed his permission at this point. They were already familiar with each other, weren’t they?
Seeing her run inside, Yin Yao seemed used to it by now and simply said, “Ah Guoguo, why are you here so early today?”
“Because I wanted to see the High Priest sooner.”
Her words made his heart skip a beat, but he quickly calmed down, a faint smile in his eyes. “Aside from that, there must be something else.”
“High Priest, you really are amazing.” Sitting cross-legged in front of the stone table, she propped her chin on both hands and stared at Yin Yao without blinking, making his ears turn red before finally saying, “High Priest, the weather’s great. How about we go out and have some fun?”
“It’s dangerous outside.”
“Doesn’t the High Priest want to gather more herbs?”
Yin Yao asked with interest, “Are you planning to use that as an excuse to play outside?”
“Of course not.”
Tang Guo took a piece of beast hide from her pouch and set it in front of Yin Yao with a smile. “I found something good in a cave when I was out playing before. I noticed that the patterns on it look a bit like the herbs we gather. High Priest, take a look.”
In the beastman world, there was still a written language.
However, the writing here looked somewhat like oracle bone script, though slightly different. In order to draw some useful herbs onto this piece of beast hide, she had put in a great deal of effort, doing her best to use the beastman world’s twisting, oddly shaped characters along with very abstract illustrations.
