“That’s true, but I still have to walk a bit. It’s not as convenient as living together,” Tang Guo said with a smile, resting her chin on her hand, as if they were simply discussing the distance.
But Yin Yao couldn’t help connecting her words to something else. This little female, every word she said made his thoughts wander. This uncontrollable feeling made him a bit flustered.
Yin Yao: wants to throw this little female out.
“Ah Guoguo is too lazy.”
Tang Guo blinked. “That’s right, everyone in the tribe knows I’m lazy. I won’t get up unless the sun is high in the sky.”
Yin Yao: No words left.
“High Priest, let’s cook some meat soup.”
Yin Yao remembered the taste of the soup from before. He had intended to refuse, but when he saw the little female’s hopeful expression, the word slipped out of his mouth instinctively. “Okay.” After saying it, he kind of wanted to slap himself.
…
That day, while Tang Guo and Yin Yao were happily drinking meat soup in the stone house, they suddenly heard a commotion outside.
The two of them put down their bowls and glanced out.
“Ah Guoguo, go see what’s going on.”
Normally, Yin Yao wouldn’t leave the stone house. There was a spacious area behind it where he spent most of his time, drying herbs.
Whenever he went out, it was only to gather herbs, and the tribe would send two beastmen to guard him.
In the eyes of the tribe members, the High Priest was a sacred and untouchable being. Unless they were sick or injured, they would never disturb him. His life was very quiet.
Except… for Ah Guoguo. Because she claimed she was sick, she came to see him every day. Morning, noon, evening, even right before bed, saying she couldn’t sleep without seeing him first.
To this, Yin Yao: “…”
“High Priest, I’ll go take a look.”
Tang Guo quickly got up and ran outside. Once she stepped out of the stone house, she saw many tribe members gathered at the entrance of Gaien’s cave. She rushed over and squeezed through the crowd, just in time to hear the sounds of Gaien and Aimo arguing, along with Ning Luo’s crying.
There were also sounds of fighting. Gaien and Aimo were brawling, and Ning Luo was clearly frightened, standing off to the side, crying like a tearful mess.
After a few days in the beastman world, Ning Luo had no choice but to change out of her dirty clothes. Someone had made her a new outfit out of beast hide. Wearing it, she still stood out among the female beastmen, because her skin was very fair and her figure was slender.
“Gaien, Aimo, stop fighting!”
Tang Guo stood in the crowd and watched as Ning Luo rushed up to stop them. When the two men saw the delicate Ning Luo approach, they immediately held back their attacks, but the force was already too much, and both were injured. Their faces were a little pale.
Gaien was in slightly better shape, his strength was second only to Black Wolf. Aimo was ranked third in the tribe.
Gaien was still standing, while Aimo was lying on the ground. Overall, Aimo had lost the fight, and Gaien had left a deep gash on his wrist.
Ning Luo looked at Gaien first, then noticed Aimo’s more serious injuries. She grew angry and said to Gaien, “Gaien, I’ve already told you, Aimo and I are just friends. Why won’t you listen? You even fought with him because of me. Do you want me to feel guilty?”
“Aimo didn’t even do anything to me, and you went and hurt him.”
Watching Ning Luo help Aimo up, Gaien’s eyes turned red. He rushed forward, grabbed Ning Luo, hoisted her over his shoulder, and carried her back into the cave.
