The Supporting Female Character Refuses to be Cannon Fodder Chapter 180

But that was Qin Fen’s own issue. If it really did not work out, he could always hire a driver.

Jiang Chan casually asked, “For this trip to the snow region, are we driving ourselves or joining a tour?”

At the mention of travel, Qin Fen became animated. It was simply in his nature to want to go out and have fun.

“Self drive. I joined a road trip club. We’re all like minded.”

Jiang Chan turned the steering wheel smoothly. “Someone who doesn’t even dare touch a steering wheel is talking about self driving?”

Qin Fen grinned. “There’s a driver. Why would I need to drive myself? Besides, aren’t you here?”

He nudged her shoulder playfully. Jiang Chan did not comment.

In her judgment, now that everything had been laid bare, Song Miao probably no longer had the face to appear before Jiang Yuhui again. Still, it would require some observation.

After returning from the snow region, Jiang Chan heard news of Song Miao in passing.

She had not chosen the same university. Instead, she went to a remote southern city. Jiang Chan’s Capital University lay in the north. The two were separated by a vast distance.

Jiang Yuzhi’s company had also entered a stable growth phase, becoming a rising enterprise. Jiang’s father’s company was developing steadily as well. All of this differed greatly from the original memory.

Jiang Chan knew it was time for her to leave.

She glanced at Xiao Ha lying at her feet and submitted the task, harboring a mischievous hope that Jiang Yuzhi would like the gift she had left behind.

At five in the morning, Jiang Yuzhi was still asleep. Only his soft short hair was visible above the blanket.

A silver gray figure skillfully pawed open the door latch. The next second, it leapt onto the mattress.

It was Xiao Ha.

Now five months old, he had grown quickly. Already reaching an adult’s knee, his energy had increased just as rapidly.

The night before, when Jiang Chan submitted the task, she had deliberately left the door unlocked.

Xiao Ha bounced on the mattress, stepping on Jiang Yuzhi several times. He muttered and pulled the blanket over himself, trying to continue sleeping.

Xiao Ha had no intention of sparing him. Rarely allowed such freedom, he seized the opportunity to release his pent up energy.

The next second, Jiang Yuzhi experienced what felt like Mount Tai pressing down. Xiao Ha launched himself fully onto his body, burying his furry head under the blanket.

Under relentless harassment, Jiang Yuzhi finally woke.

He ran a hand through his hair and sat up, holding Xiao Ha by the neck.

The puppy sensed that today’s owner seemed gentler. With a swipe of his long tongue, he left a wet streak across Jiang Yuzhi’s face.

Jiang Yuzhi wiped his face and ruffled the puppy’s head. Xiao Ha mistook it for play and pounced again.

Holding him tighter, Jiang Yuzhi glanced at the clock. It was only five.

He let out a soft sigh. The task executor must have risen very early.

Staring at the youthful face in the mirror, his eyes reddened slightly. He never imagined he would return.

He had thought that trading his soul meant he would never see his family again.

Watching the executor’s life unfold, Jiang Yuhui had learned a profound lesson.

His downfall in the previous life stemmed from weakness and an inability to withstand pressure.

The executor’s decisiveness had taught him that only he could save himself. One must learn to cherish oneself more.

Hearing Xiao Ha scratching at the bathroom door, Jiang Yuhui relaxed his expression. “Xiao Ha, coming. Just a moment.”

After washing up quickly, he took the leash and headed out.

Huskies had endless energy. Without proper exercise, they would wreak havoc at home.

Though he preferred quiet, seeing this lively puppy brought him unexpected warmth. Perhaps this was the gift the executor had left him.

As he brushed Xiao Ha’s fur and rubbed his belly, an elderly man with silver hair smiled. “Out for morning exercise again, Xiao Jiang? Kids like you who get up this early are rare these days.”

Jiang Yuhui hesitated before recalling that this was Grandpa Liu from the neighborhood.

“Yes, Grandpa Liu. It feels refreshing to get some exercise.”

While stroking the puppy, he chatted lightly. Stepping beyond his small world, he realized how vast the outside world was.

“Xiao Huihui, you’re up so early? Why didn’t you call me?”

A bright voice sounded nearby as Qin Fen plopped down beside him.

Seeing him, Jiang Yuhui felt momentarily unsure.

He knew the executor had a good relationship with Qin Fen, but this was the first time he himself had met him.

After a brief hesitation, he offered a warm smile. “Sorry. Xiao Ha was restless, so I took him out early.”

He believed he sounded polite.

Qin Fen stared at him as if he had seen a ghost.

Based on the executor’s usual demeanor, would he ever apologize? At most he would throw a cold glance and let Qin Fen bounce around him.

Qin Fen examined him closely.

He was dressed in short sleeves and shorts, unlike his usual long sleeves and trousers. His expression carried a gentle smile, warm and approachable.

Qin Fen rubbed his chin and leaned closer. “You’re the real Jiang Yuhui, aren’t you? Where’s the other one?”

Jiang Yuhui’s heart skipped.

It seemed Qin Fen truly knew more than he expected.

Seeing the surprise on his face, Qin Fen clicked his tongue. “I was just testing you. And you actually fell for it.”

Jiang Yuhui felt a touch helpless. Perhaps he was still too inexperienced.

After all, Qin Fen had lived two lifetimes as well.

He smiled openly. “She left last night. She should have returned to her own world.”

Qin Fen pouted. “No wonder she invited me to dinner last night. So it was a farewell meal.”

He nudged Jiang Yuhui’s shoulder. “Nice to meet you officially. Take care of me from now on. You seem much easier to get along with than her.”
