The Supporting Female Character Refuses to be Cannon Fodder Chapter 165

Her sleep time was being compressed further and further. Every minute and second was precious. Even at school, Jiang Chan muttered programming code under her breath, almost to the point of obsession.

Originally, she thought her high school life would pass in this intense competition routine. She did not expect that after a transfer student joined the class, her plans would gradually veer off track.

The fourth class that morning was English. The homeroom teacher entered with a boy.

“Sorry to interrupt. Let me introduce a transfer student. Qin Fen, please introduce yourself.”

The teacher stepped aside to reveal the boy behind him.

He was good looking, with sharp brows and bright eyes, and a faintly playful smile at the corner of his mouth. He looked like the type girls would easily like. Whispers spread through the classroom, mostly about how handsome he was.

Jiang Chan rarely spared attention for such matters, but the name Qin Fen caught her interest.

The original owner’s life had truly been tragic. Although he had known of Qin Fen, he had never actually met him. After divorcing Song Miao, the only thing he had seen was Qin Fen’s memorial photo.

Was this the same Qin Fen?

Jiang Chan looked up. The boy on the podium still had a bit of youthful immaturity, but his features clearly matched the man in the original owner’s memories.

Jiang Chan curved her lips slightly. Now this was interesting. Hadn’t this person always stayed in the capital before? Why had he transferred here?

Her gaze drifted toward Song Miao’s rigid back in the front right. Sure enough, Song Miao’s fingers were gripping her pen tightly. Her head was lowered, so Jiang Chan could not see her expression.

A question formed in Jiang Chan’s mind. At this point in time, Song Miao should not have known Qin Fen. Why such a strong reaction?

Things were becoming more and more interesting. Qin Fen and Song Miao had both gathered around Jiang Yuhui. Jiang Chan’s curiosity about this task deepened.

On the podium, Qin Fen continued, “I’m Qin Fen, from the capital. I hope we can all get along.”

Although he looked somewhat like a playboy, his speech was polite. The homeroom teacher relaxed slightly. For now, he did not seem like a troublemaker.

The teacher scanned the classroom, considering where to seat him. The only empty seat was beside Song Miao, and he was about to assign Qin Fen there.

Qin Fen suddenly grinned. “I’d like to sit there.”

He pointed directly at Jiang Chan’s side, specifically at Wu You’s seat.

Wu You immediately stiffened, glaring at Qin Fen as if facing an enemy. She had just escaped Song Miao’s side. Was she about to be pushed into another pit?

The homeroom teacher frowned. Wu You was his niece. Her arrangement to sit with Jiang Chan had been approved by him. Moreover, he had a good eye for people and knew that Song Miao was not as bright and cheerful as she appeared.

He was glad Wu You had distanced herself from Song Miao. But this new student openly choosing Jiang Chan’s side troubled him.

He silently withdrew his earlier thought that this was not a troublemaker.

At this moment, Jiang Chan spoke up. She stood. “Teacher, there are still several seats in the last row. Qin Fen can sit between Wu You and me.”

It was a reasonable suggestion, and the homeroom teacher immediately agreed. He patted Qin Fen’s shoulder. “Then sit beside Jiang Yuhui for now. After lunch, go to the administration office to get a desk. For this class, you can share a book.”

Qin Fen carried his bag over without hesitation and squeezed himself between Jiang Chan and Wu You.

After the homeroom teacher left, the English teacher resumed the lesson.

The back row looked odd. Three people were squeezed onto two stools. Jiang Chan certainly was not going to share a seat with Qin Fen, so Qin Fen chose the softer target and pressed against Wu You instead.

Wu You was furious. This annoying new classmate had taken her deskmate and now even her seat.

Since sitting down, Qin Fen had been openly and covertly observing Jiang Chan. The reason he transferred was precisely to see what kind of person Jiang Yuhui was. He did not care about anything else.

Jiang Chan ignored his gaze. Only when he stared too boldly did she glance at him. Qin Fen responded with a wide smile, as if he felt nothing.

Objectively speaking, he was indeed handsome. Jiang Chan could not deny that he had the looks to support his reputation.

After the English class finally ended, Wu You jumped up and glared at Qin Fen. “Can you have some manners? Look at you taking up the whole seat. I barely have a third. My waist is killing me.”

Qin Fen raised his long eyes lazily. “My manners are reserved for beauties. Are you one?”

He looked her up and down. “I forgot. You’re not a beauty yet. Just a flat string bean.”

Even if Wu You did not fully understand, she knew it was not a compliment. Flustered and angry, she lunged at him.

Jiang Chan held her back. “Enough. Why argue with him? That’s his personality. The more you react, the more he enjoys it.”

There were not many students in the classroom at that moment. Jiang Chan turned to Qin Fen. “And you. Don’t say inappropriate things in class. Leave your family habits at home. We’re all students here. You crossed the line.”

Under Jiang Chan’s steady gaze, Qin Fen realized his words had indeed been improper, carrying a teasing undertone.

He was flexible enough to bend when needed. He apologized directly to Wu You. “Sorry. I shouldn’t have said that.”

Wu You was straightforward. Since he apologized, she would not cling to it. She pursed her lips. “Fine. I won’t hold it against you. But if you provoke me again, I won’t be polite. I’ve trained before.”

She blew on her small fist for emphasis. Qin Fen assumed she was bluffing. How formidable could a girl be?

He grinned. “Alright. I won’t say that again. Is that acceptable, Jiang Yuhui?”

Jiang Chan picked up her bag. “Move aside. I’m going home.”

Qin Fen stood as well, slinging his bag over his shoulder and following behind her. “Jiang Yuhui, I just arrived. Shouldn’t you show some hospitality?”

  1. Lol, Qin Fen x Wu You??? I want to see her show off her fighting skills. This is great! These three are just chilling, meanwhile Song Miao is fuming. What’s up with Qin Fen though? How does he know Jiang Yuhui? Was he also reborn?
