“Even to the extent of allowing them to return home once every month, while you, the Imperial Consort, do not receive such treatment.”
“Imperial Consort, do you feel uncomfortable inside?”
Jing Cheng quickly replied, “No.” The Empress had already made things very clear. He was not someone who particularly liked to be jealous.
Just the fact that the Empress spoke so openly in front of him proved that she truly cared about him.
Moreover, no one else knew that the Empress looked especially beautiful when she smiled, and that she would nap in his palace without any guard up.
This showed that the Empress trusted him.
As for how the Empress treated Nan Yunchuan and Su Qing, she must have her own purpose.
“It seems that the Imperial Consort does not care about me. Only someone who does not care would not feel uncomfortable about such things.”
“Not…” Jing Cheng hurriedly said, afraid of being misunderstood. His expression carried some unease. Meeting Tang Guo’s gaze, he suddenly found himself speechless.
Tang Guo raised her brows and asked, “Then why is that?”
Jing Cheng: “…” When the Empress acted so unreasonable, could it be that she only showed this side in front of him? Had she already become different toward him?
“Whatever Your Majesty does must have Your Majesty’s own intentions. Jing Cheng only understands, it does not mean he does not care about Your Majesty.”
“So you do care about me?” Tang Guo pressed on.
What else could Jing Cheng do? He could only brace himself and nod.
He had to admit that he had indeed fallen for the Empress. This Empress who was even a few years younger than him, who appeared mature in front of others but revealed her true self in front of him.
“Then I am very happy.”
Tang Guo picked up the teacup and took a sip of flower tea. “As expected, only the Imperial Consort’s tea is my favorite.”
System: That is because of the Imperial Consort himself.
A faint smile also appeared at the corner of Jing Cheng’s lips. The Empress was so straightforward in front of him, how could he not like her?
“In truth, I do not have many thoughts about Nan Yunchuan and Su Qing,” Tang Guo set down the teacup and spoke calmly. “It is just that they always find ways to appear before me. Their eyes clearly do not hold me, yet they insist on putting on a deeply affectionate act. I am simply curious about what they intend to do.”
Jing Cheng’s heart trembled. Was the Empress confiding in him?
“Later, I discovered that they particularly like leaving the palace. So I thought, I would let them go out and see what they plan to do.”
Jing Cheng’s heartbeat quickened as he asked, “Then has Your Majesty seen anything?”
“Not yet, but I should see it soon.”
Jing Cheng took a deep breath. “Then does Your Majesty need Jing Cheng to do anything?”
“There is no need for you to do anything.” Tang Guo smiled. “You only need to stay well in the palace. If you want to go out and have some fun, when I have time, I will take you with me.”
Jing Cheng thought to himself, was the Empress being too direct? It left him feeling somewhat flattered.
“I am going to take a nap.”
Before Jing Cheng could react, Tang Guo leaned directly against him. He looked at the young girl nestled in his arms, feeling at a loss as his heart pounded.
He did not intend to push her away. Afraid that the position might be uncomfortable, he even adjusted slightly to support her.
Although he had imagined holding the Empress many times in his mind, actually being in contact with her was completely different.
Looking at her tightly closed eyes, Jing Cheng silently smiled, his hands resting on her.
The Empress was treating him like this, so of course he would not let her down.
Tang Guo did not actually fall asleep, but was observing Su Qing and Nan Yunchuan.
