“Sisi and I will always remember you. If you ever need anything, or want pretty clothes, just let us know. We’ll burn them for you regularly.”
Ning Xiangsi felt a little embarrassed saying that.
But she really had seen Qin Jiu take Tang Guo shopping for clothes and then burn them for her.
“Mom, she’s really that legendary female ghost?” Fang Siyun asked again, still uncertain. After Ning Xiangsi confirmed it several times, she finally smiled brightly.
Fang Siyun hesitated before asking Tang Guo, “Aunt Tang, can I take a photo with you?”
“Sisi, don’t be rude,” Ning Xiangsi quickly tried to stop her.
Tang Guo, however, said, “Sure.”
Fang Siyun happily broke free from Ning Xiangsi and insisted that her mother take pictures for them. Seeing that Tang Guo did not object, Ning Xiangsi took out her phone and snapped several photos.
Qin Jiu stepped aside. When Fang Siyun saw Tang Guo’s solidified form, her eyes were full of curiosity. She said very seriously, “Aunt Tang, you’re really amazing.”
“I’ve heard stories about you since I was little. I never thought I’d actually meet you one day.”
She also never imagined that the one who saved her life would be a ghost.
Ironically, her father was a ghost-catching Daoist who killed ghosts on sight. She glanced at Fang Yunchi’s dark expression and deliberately leaned closer to Tang Guo, taking even more photos.
Ning Xiangsi noticed Fang Yunchi’s discomfort. The way he stared at Tang Guo, if she and Sisi were not present, he might have already attacked.
Before today, she might have felt some heartache for him.
Now, she did not care.
In her eyes and heart, there was only her daughter.
“Xiangsi, don’t let Sisi fool around.”
Fang Yunchi felt extremely conflicted. On one hand, Tang Guo was the one who had killed his master. On the other, she had just saved Fang Siyun.
Seeing Fang Siyun so close to Tang Guo filled him with anger.
Ning Xiangsi let out a cold laugh. “From now on, what Sisi and I do has nothing to do with you, Fang Yunchi. Go catch your ghosts. No one will stop you anymore or accuse you of being irresponsible.”
“Xiangsi, what do you mean?”
Ning Xiangsi lowered her phone and sneered. “What do you think it means? Divorce, Fang Yunchi. I’m divorcing you. From now on, you can do whatever you want. Sisi and I have nothing to do with you. No one will hold you back. Catch ghosts wherever you like.”
“No, Xiangsi…”
“This divorce is happening.”
This time, Ning Xiangsi had made up her mind. “Do you really think what happened to our daughter today has nothing to do with you?”
“Leaving karma aside, if you hadn’t slapped Sisi twice that day, would she have run away from home?”
Fang Yunchi hurried to defend himself. “She’s still young and doesn’t understand. I hit her because…”
“Because she said that the legendary ghost wasn’t bad and hit a sore spot of yours?” Ning Xiangsi mocked.
She took Fang Siyun’s hand, now standing beside her, and asked seriously, “Sisi, do you object to me divorcing your father?”
“I don’t object,” Fang Siyun answered firmly. “All these years, he’s barely been home. Mom, I support you. We’ll be fine without him.”
“I’ve always thought Aunt Tang from the legends was a good ghost. He hit me just for saying that. He’s never fulfilled his responsibilities as a husband or father. Why should we keep him?”
Ning Xiangsi felt a weight lift from her heart. Noticing Tang Guo still standing nearby, she said, “Sorry you had to see this.”
