Fang Tianshi did not know how to describe his feelings. In any case, they were not good.
His worldview had been overturned by a female ghost.
His body had long since been buried by Fang Yunchi. It had already decayed. He was now truly nothing more than a ghost.
Thinking of how Fang Yunchi had hunted him over the years, his expression darkened.
Several ghosts he had known, and even gotten along well with, had all been killed by Fang Yunchi.
If Tang Guo had not done something to him, he would likely have been killed as well.
Fang Tianshi stood in that corner untouched by sunlight, thinking continuously. Only when the sun set did he finally raise his head.
Looking at the lights along the street, he sighed and gave a bitter smile. “I was wrong.”
He understood.
He and Fang Yunchi had both believed that as long as ghosts were exterminated, peace would return to the human world.
He had been slightly better, killing only ghosts who harmed people.
But the disciple he had raised with his own hands had become so extreme because of him. Fang Yunchi killed every ghost without distinguishing right from wrong. All of this was the result of his own flawed teaching.
Take Song Xiaoyun, whom he had once reduced to ashes. Only later did he learn that it had been Tang Lusheng’s new wife who killed her.
A ghost who had died unjustly would naturally seek revenge on the true culprit.
Just like his disciple Fang Yunchi, who sought revenge on Tang Guo because she had killed him.
Originally, all of this could have been different.
It was because of his actions that karma had wrapped around him and then extended to Fang Yunchi. In the end, Fang Yunchi walked the same path as him, even more extreme.
Now what could he do?
Fang Tianshi felt lost and remained standing there without moving.
“What will Fang Tianshi do?” Qin Jiu asked curiously.
Tang Guo shook her head with a smile. “Do you think I’m an immortal?”
“In my heart, Guoguo is a fairy who fell from the heavens, even more powerful than immortals.”
“Tsk, Daoist Qin’s sweet talk is getting smoother and smoother. Did you eat honey?”
Qin Jiu smiled and kissed the corner of Tang Guo’s lips. “Didn’t I just eat some?”
“Daoist Qin, didn’t you say your life was only about catching demons and making money?”
“Catching demons and making money does not conflict with doting on my wife.”
“Daoist Qin, you’re really impressive.”
“You flatter me. Being praised by Guoguo is what truly makes me happy.”
Qin Jiu tightened his grip on Tang Guo’s hand. “Let me carry you, Guoguo. I like it when you lie on my back.” That way, she would be pressed against him, as if she belonged to him. It would not make him feel as though she might drift away at any moment.
Tang Guo obediently climbed onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck. The two of them strolled along, enjoying the warmth between them.
Tang Guo was almost drifting off to sleep when she suddenly jolted awake. What startled her was not anything else, but the bead she had given to Ning Xiangsi years ago.
“What is it?” Qin Jiu asked.
“Do you remember that bead?”
“The defensive bead you gave to Ning Xiangsi?”
“She told me that Mingxuan would come to deal with me, so I gave it to her on a whim.”
Qin Jiu no longer believed that she did things on a whim. She always had her reasons. “What happened? Is it Ning Xiangsi or her daughter Fang Siyun?”
“Fang Siyun.”
“Are we going?” Qin Jiu knew her well. Wherever there was excitement, she would go.
“Yes, of course. There’s no reason to miss a good show.”
Meanwhile, Ning Xiangsi could not find Fang Siyun. She called repeatedly, but no one answered. In the end, she had no choice but to return to Fang Yunchi.
At first, Fang Yunchi did not take it seriously.
But three days had passed, and Fang Siyun still had not returned.
He had no choice but to cast a divination for her.
The moment he calculated, his face changed drastically.
