Tang Guo replied, “Yes. They caused my death. Why shouldn’t I take revenge?”
“Ask the Ning Xiangsi beside you what she went through here.”
Ning Xiangsi’s expression changed. What she had experienced here had indeed almost become a nightmare.
“Your grievance has already been avenged. Why won’t you leave this place?” Ning Xiangsi asked. “Those who harmed you have received retribution. You should leave as well.”
“Young lady, weren’t you here to help us catch ghosts? Why are you letting her go now?” someone from the village shouted.
Ning Xiangsi frowned. “She killed your villagers because they harmed her. And she saved me. I will not kill her. The reason we came here is because there are other evil spirits. The women and children in the village are innocent.”
“Brother Fang, take her to a temple.”
No matter what, Tang Guo had saved her. She could not stand by and watch her be destroyed.
Fang Yunchi nodded. “Alright.”
He stepped forward and took out a gourd. “Will you enter willingly, or should I do it myself?”
“Little Taoist, with your level of cultivation, you are not worth mentioning in front of me.” Tang Guo’s figure instantly appeared before Fang Yunchi. Before he could react, the ghost capturing gourd was already in her hand.
“You think this broken gourd can contain me? Keep dreaming.”
With a light squeeze, the gourd shattered in Fang Yunchi’s incredulous gaze.
Fang Yunchi’s face turned pale. He gripped his peach wood sword and rushed toward Tang Guo. In the next instant, the sword was in her hand.
“I really am not afraid of this.” Tang Guo smiled and snapped the peach wood sword in half. “Little Taoist, this won’t do.”
Her expression was arrogant and malicious, and it enraged Fang Yunchi. That was his beloved peach wood sword. Left with no choice, he took out the ghost subduing talismans his master had given him.
Unfortunately, before he could even finish the incantation, Tang Guo snatched them away. Smiling, she tore the talismans into pieces right in front of him. “I’m not afraid of talismans either.”
Fang Yunchi felt dizzy. He immediately used every technique he had learned. All the ghost hunting tools he carried were put to use.
But not a single item had any effect on Tang Guo.
Fang Yunchi wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and looked at her warily. “She might be at the level of a Ghost King. Even if my master were here, he might not be able to handle her. She is not an ordinary ghost.”
Hearing this, despair appeared on the villagers’ faces.
“Alright, you’ve finished performing. Now it’s my turn.”
From the very beginning, Tang Guo had not intended to spare the people of this village.
“You are not allowed to kill anyone else,” Ning Xiangsi shouted. “The remaining people do not have blood on their hands.”
“But they are accomplices,” Tang Guo said.
Ning Xiangsi pressed her lips together. “The crime does not warrant death.”
“Fine. Then I won’t take their lives.” Tang Guo took a step back. Her beautiful eyes swept over the burly men. “To prevent you from continuing to harm young girls, castrate yourselves. If you do it yourselves and turn into eunuchs, I will spare your lives.”
Under the moonlight and lamplight, she smiled as she said this. She looked like a spirit, beautiful and terrifying.
But in the villagers’ eyes, she was a demon.
“Little Taoist master, this female ghost is far too vicious. Please take her away. Our whole village will kneel to you.”
