Tang Guo leaned against Feng Ming’s chest and smiled. “My body? Wasn’t it cremated?”
Cremated…
Feng Yu’s eyes widened as he stumbled backward. How could that be? How was that possible?
“Ah Ming, let’s go. I don’t want to deal with him anymore.”
Feng Ming naturally listened to his wife. Holding her hand, the two of them disappeared.
Only then did Feng Yu react. He tried to search for them, but no matter what he did, he could not find them. He smashed the computer, walked outside, and looked at the unfamiliar world, his expression numb.
Seven days later, the existence of Tang Guo and Feng Ming was made known to all of humanity. The world was shaken. Some attempted to attack their nation’s network firewall. The two counterattacked, and those attackers suffered the loss of significant classified data.
In the end, every country understood that a nation protected by two powerful human brainwaves was not one they could provoke.
If they behaved, perhaps the other side would merely observe. If they did not, their data could be taken at any time.
There were nations that tried to unite in protest, demanding the two be eliminated.
Those who had just publicly agreed to such proposals found their entire national networks paralyzed the very next day. They knew who had done it, yet they did not dare say a word.
Eventually, they had no choice but to acknowledge Tang Guo and Feng Ming’s existence. Whether they acknowledged it or not made little difference. The nation in question had already grown powerful.
Anyone who attempted to attack its networks would find their own national systems completely shut down.
In this era, no country could function without the internet. Many essential operations depended entirely on it.
From the day the two revealed themselves, humanity understood that the once underestimated and repeatedly suppressed nation had fully risen.
What they possessed was not an ordinary main system, but two human brainwaves with limitless potential. No one could afford to offend them. Formerly critical international conferences no longer held the same weight for this country.
From then on, the nation’s network security rested entirely in their hands.
Online scammers lost their livelihood.
At first, they believed they could exploit loopholes. Within days, they were located and arrested.
Later, Feng Ming and Tang Guo worked with the state to develop intelligent brain chips. From that point forward, internet access required verified legal identity. Anyone wishing to use it for wrongdoing would have to avoid domestic networks altogether.
Under the supervision of the two, almost no one escaped detection.
Tang Guo was very happy. In this world, her life had been extended.
Even so, it was only extended by twenty years.
“Ah Ming, I may have to leave soon.”
Feng Ming’s heart trembled. He pulled her into his arms. “Where are you going?”
“I don’t know.”
“Will we meet again in the next life?”
Tang Guo smiled brightly at him. “Probably.”
“In the next life, will Guo Guo still be my wife?”
Tang Guo glanced at him. “That’s for the next life to decide. No matter how well you behave in this one, you can’t carry it over. So if you want to marry me again, you’ll have to perform even better.”
“I understand, Guo Guo. I’ll do even better than in this life. I’ll appear before you’re hurt and protect you.”
Tang Guo was pleased. She hugged him and kissed his cheek. “I like the way you dote on me. And I like doting on you too.”
Suddenly, Feng Ming felt that he could no longer hold her. Her figure dissolved into specks of light and vanished before him.
“Guo Guo, wait for me.”
