Feng Yu woke up and immediately turned on the computer. He refused to believe it, refused to believe that Tang Guo had disappeared.
He entered the game countless times, but he never saw Tang Guo again.
Later, he replayed the livestream from that day. In the final game, he saw the line, “Although the Ghost King is fierce, he does not seem like he would harm me.” His eyes widened.
Xiao Guo. That was Xiao Guo.
He hurried to check the base settings and read through the Ghost King Bride’s dialogue dozens of times. That sentence was not there.
So the Ghost King Bride had to be Xiao Guo.
He shouted that he had found Tang Guo and submitted the evidence, requesting to enter the game again. The people in charge were doubtful. They did not have much hope, but they were willing to let him try.
When the bride spoke that line again, he laughed. “Look. I never set that line. Xiao Guo said it. So she must be Xiao Guo.”
The person in charge took the game away for analysis.
Not long after, he returned and said, “You did not set that line as a surface dialogue. It is a hidden line. Under specific conditions, hidden lines appear. So this is not Tang Guo.”
Feng Yu refused to believe it. He clearly remembered that those three games were made casually for Xia Yi to play. He had not made them that complicated.
He did not believe it. He wanted to prove it, but no one trusted him anymore.
He became frantic and even assaulted staff members, trying to get out. Later, the person in charge decided that his mental state was unstable. He was no longer fit to assist in searching for Tang Guo’s brainwave. They requested that his special privileges be revoked.
From then on, Feng Yu was treated like any other prisoner.
He resisted for a while, then understood that only by getting out could he continue searching for Tang Guo’s brainwave.
He became proactive and gave the impression that he had truly repented. He worked hard to be the model inmate. All he wanted was to get out sooner.
As for Xia Yi, she had to cooperate with daily research. After more than three years, she could not endure it any longer. During one experiment, when her brainwave was stimulated, she broke free from the body’s control and fled into the network.
Tang Guo’s body, having lost its brainwave, fell into a vegetative state.
Tang Guo’s parents were notified that in this condition, her body could fail at any time.
After speaking with Tang Guo, they decided to wait one year. If there was still no hope after that, they would authorize euthanasia. They did not want their daughter’s body to become a permanent experiment.
Xia Yi had escaped. Tang Guo could not be found. There was no other option. Everyone respected the parents’ decision.
One year later, Tang Guo’s body was euthanized and cremated.
Five years later, Feng Yu was released early for good behavior.
After his release, he devoted himself to searching for Tang Guo’s brainwave.
He retrieved the three games and opened a long unused computer. The computers now were different from years ago, but with his ability, he adapted quickly.
He launched the Ghost King Bride game.
Standing before the bride, he smiled. “Xiao Guo, I will take you out.”
“I know. It must be you. You forgot me, so you are lying to me.”
Before Tang Guo could speak, Feng Ming appeared.
The moment Feng Ming arrived, both he and Tang Guo shed their game character appearances and revealed their true forms. Sitting in front of the computer, Feng Yu saw everything and was stunned.
Especially when he saw Tang Guo held in Feng Ming’s arms, he could not believe it.
