Xia Yi resisted in her heart. She knew Feng Yu was not expelling her brainwave for now only to avoid damaging this body.
A body without its brainwave could die. Even if it did not, it would only become a vegetable.
If someone remained in a vegetative state for too long, the body’s functions would gradually deteriorate. Even though she had not studied much, she still knew that. Years ago, television had shown cases of vegetative patients waking up.
So Feng Yu was not caring about her, nor was he unable to bear driving her brainwave out. He was simply using her existence to keep this body alive and well.
She did not want to cooperate. Why should she maintain someone else’s body?
This body was not something she had forcibly taken. If anyone was to blame, it could only be Feng Yu. If he had not secretly done all this behind her back, would so many things have happened?
She was a victim. If she had never come out in the first place, she would not have grown attached to the beauty of having a body.
She had only been forced to accept it. Now she had somehow become the unforgivable one.
So she would resist. Feng Yu wanted her to care for the body properly. She refused. After Feng Yu left, she pinched herself hard and slammed her head against the wall, trying to leave herself covered in injuries.
If Feng Yu would not let her live well, she would not let him have his way either.
As she harmed herself, Xia Yi could not help but cry. Whom had she offended? Why did she have to suffer all this?
Feng Yu had once liked her so much. Why was he now so cruel? He was the one who had brought her out. If not for him, she would not even be here.
She was angry, aggrieved, and heartbroken.
There was also a growing sense of revenge in her heart. She wanted to destroy this body so that Feng Yu would never get what he wanted.
When Feng Yu came to see Xia Yi for the second time and saw the body covered in wounds, his eyes turned red.
He walked over and gripped her chin tightly, almost wanting to slap her. Xia Yi opened her eyes at that moment and sneered.
“Go ahead and hit me. It is not my body anyway. Hit as hard as you want. If it is ruined, that is what you deserve.”
“Very good.”
Feng Yu gently released her, stroked her cheek, then carried her out. He brought her into a room and finally placed her onto a strange chair.
“I told you. Disobedience will be punished.”
The smile on Feng Yu’s face carried a hint of sickness, cold and terrifying. For the first time, Xia Yi truly felt fear.
“No. Let me go.”
“Feng Yu, what you are doing is harming her body.”
Feng Yu looked at Xia Yi, who was restrained and still struggling. He shook the remote control in his hand, then crouched down in front of her.
“How could I bear to harm Xiao Guo’s body? Before she returns, I will take good care of it and make sure it suffers not the slightest injury.”
“Xia Yi, I did not want to hurt you. You were simply too disobedient.”
Feng Yu smiled and pressed the button on the remote.
At that moment, Xia Yi could no longer speak. She could not even show a pained expression or cry out.
Her mind went blank. She only felt pain somewhere, pain so intense she wanted to die. It felt as if she might disappear at any moment.
Feng Yu was satisfied with the result. The day he learned Xia Yi had run away, he had begun researching this method.
The outcome was very successful.
She would not scream, so Xiao Guo’s throat would not be harmed.
She would not show pain on her face, so Xiao Guo’s beautiful features would not be ruined.
She would not struggle, so the body would not be injured elsewhere.
Xia Yi would only feel unbearable pain, the kind that made her not want to live, the kind that made her feel on the verge of vanishing. Yet she would be unable to show any of it.
This was a method that directly attacked the brainwave. Quite an excellent method.
Madman.
Through blurred vision, Xia Yi looked at Feng Yu’s smile and those two words echoed in her mind.
