“Xiao Guo.” Even though he could not see the bride’s expression, he could imagine exactly what it would look like. “Have you remembered anything about us today?”
His game character sat nearby, those words appearing above his head.
Tang Guo glanced at Feng Yu’s pained expression. This game was truly strange. The game character could perfectly display Feng Yu’s anguish. How interesting.
“No.”
She glanced at him again. “You should leave. If my husband gets angry later, he’ll have you tied up and whipped with salt water.”
“Xiao Guo, will you come out with me just once? Once you’re out, everything will make sense.”
“Why should I go out?” Tang Guo blinked. “You want me to leave, so tell me, how did I come in?”
That question made Feng Yu’s heart seize.
How did she come in? Because of his scheme. Because he wanted to take her body, he had designed a vicious plot. He truly had not expected that he would fall in love with her. After losing her, he lived every day in pain.
“You were testing the game pod when the accident happened,” Feng Yu lied. If she knew it had all been a conspiracy, she would never leave with him.
He could only bring her out first. Everything else could be explained later. At that time, however she wanted to punish him, he would accept it. He was willing to spend the rest of his life making up for what he had done to her.
Tang Guo saw through his thoughts and lowered her eyes with a soft laugh. Make up for it? How could he? The one who should have died had already died. The one who should have vanished had long vanished. Harm was harm. Even if it was mended, the scar in the heart would remain the size of a fist. How could it ever return to what it was?
If she had not deliberately shown how much she liked Feng Yu, had not given herself wholeheartedly and treated him with such devotion, how would he ever have realized that what he was doing was hurting a person?
If he had not known that Tang Guo truly liked him, had not experienced those gentle acts of care, had not been immersed in months of happiness only to lose it suddenly, how could he feel this desolation now?
If Tang Guo had never been important to him, he would only have felt joy at Xia Yi’s awakening.
Even if he had developed feelings for her and struggled in his heart, hesitated and wavered, in the end, because she was alive and Xia Yi was only a pitiful brainwave, he had still chosen to act without hesitation.
What Feng Yu satisfied was nothing more than his own selfishness. He had never considered anyone else’s feelings.
Now he wanted to take her out simply because she had become important to him. Because he had fallen in love with her. In other words, he suddenly realized that he had personally destroyed the most beautiful thing he had ever possessed. Who would not regret that?
The better she was, the more Xia Yi’s flaws would be magnified in comparison. No matter how good Xia Yi once seemed, she could not compare to what he had lost.
Wretches are still wretches. They only understand the truth after losing something. And such people deserve to live their entire lives in pain for the mistakes they have made. They do not deserve happiness or forgiveness.
Why should I forgive you just because you hurt me, then realized you loved me, and now say you want to make amends?
There is no bargain like that in this world.
From a distance, Feng Ming approached and saw Feng Yu trying to win over his wife again.
Even though Feng Yu was his nephew, he still intended to beat him.
Without a word, he strode over, grabbed Feng Yu’s game character, and gave him a vicious beating before tossing him to the zombies and ordering them to bite him to death.
