At nine in the morning, Xia Yi woke up.
After waking, she thought about the horror story game Zombie Bride she had played the night before and could not help calling Feng Yu to ask if there was something special about that game.
At that time, Feng Yu was in a morning meeting. The quiet conference room was broken by the ringtone of his phone.
Feng Yu placed the phone on the meeting table. A technical supervisor sitting not far from him glanced at it and saw the two words “Xiao Guo” on the screen. He showed a teasing expression and quickly signaled to the others in the meeting room.
“Young Master Feng, you should take the call first. It might be something urgent.”
Tang Guo had not come to the company for a long time, and many people missed her. Recently everyone had been busy, so they did not have much time to watch livestreams. For some reason, they occasionally felt that watching the livestream was still not as comforting as seeing her in person.
There were also people who had attended Feng Yu’s birthday banquet. Throughout the event, they had hardly exchanged a word with Tang Guo. When she saw them, she only smiled briefly. Whenever they tried to approach and chat, she would turn and go somewhere else, which felt very strange.
They did not know that this Tang Guo avoided interacting with them entirely because she was afraid of being exposed.
Feng Yu originally wanted to hang up the call, but with everyone watching him, he had no choice but to pick up the phone and step outside.
“What is it?”
Xia Yi did not notice the coldness in his tone. She was just eager to ask about the hidden secrets of that game.
“Ah Yu, yesterday I played the game you left on the flash drive. I found the story a bit strange. I have never played anything like it before. How did you come up with it?”
“This afternoon I plan to livestream the Zombie Bride game I played yesterday. The bride’s character is something I have never seen before. It is really interesting.”
Feng Yu frowned. “You called me so early just to tell me the game is interesting?”
“Yes. Is that not okay? Did we not always talk about games like this before? When you designed games, did you not always let me try them first?” Xia Yi asked, a little confused. Then she quickly realized something. “Did I interrupt you? Sorry, Ah Yu. I was just too excited. I think this game is really innovative and will definitely be popular.”
“So far I have only played one. I have not tried the other two yet.”
Feng Yu also recalled their past and his expression softened slightly. “Alright, I understand. These three games were specially prepared for you. As long as you like them, that is enough. I am busy this morning. If there is nothing important, do not call. Just send me a message.”
He remembered that every time the caller ID appeared, it showed the name “Xiao Guo.” After a pause, he said, “After work, I will buy you a new phone and SIM card. The one you are using belongs to my friend, so put it away.”
“Oh, I understand.”
After the call ended, Xia Yi’s excitement faded a little. She fiddled with the phone. “Right, this belongs to someone else,” she muttered.
She glanced at the livestream booth. “This also belongs to someone else.”
She walked out of the booth and looked around the elegantly decorated room. “All of this belongs to someone else.” None of it belonged to her.
Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, she looked at the exquisite, flawless face and the fair, slender body.
“This body belongs to someone else too.”
She touched her smooth skin, which was flawless even without any skincare products, and thought about her own body.
