Vigo’s entire body stiffened, and he stared at Tang Guo with an icy gaze.
Tang Guo pretended to be frightened and took a few steps back. “If you’re unwilling, then forget it. You didn’t transform into your true form before, so how would I know there was something strange inside your body?”
“Or you can cut him open yourselves. I won’t do it. He doesn’t look like he’s in danger of dying.”
Ning Luo was naturally reluctant, but seeing how much pain Vigo was in, she said, “Chief, you try it. Just cut open a small area first and see what’s inside.”
On the surface, Tang Guo watched with a serious expression. Inside, she was laughing uncontrollably.
Black Wolf nodded, took the large blade, and cut into one of the bulging areas. Vigo looked extremely pained. He was in his snake form, so it was hard to see his expression, but his body was clearly trembling.
When the flesh was cut open, Black Wolf carefully removed the bulging object. When everyone saw what it was, they were all stunned.
“Sto, stone?” Gaien stammered.
Black Wolf then picked out a piece of wood, and everyone’s expressions changed again.
“It can basically be confirmed that when Vigo fought the wild beasts, his body was torn open, and these things accidentally got inside,” Black Wolf said. “Now, if we want to resolve Vigo’s pain, we can only cut open his flesh and remove the stones, wood, and branches.”
Ning Luo glanced at Tang Guo. “Ah Guoguo, when you treated Vigo’s injuries, didn’t you disinfect and clean the wound?” The tone of blame could no longer be concealed.
Tang Guo looked puzzled. “What is disinfection? I cleaned the wound. Didn’t I wash it with hot water?”
Looking at Tang Guo, who clearly did not understand, Ning Luo was momentarily speechless. How could she forget that this was a backward beastman world? These beastmen were thick-skinned and uneducated. How could they possibly know the importance of disinfection and thoroughly cleaning wounds?
“Since you’ve found the cause, then I’m done here. Don’t come to me for things like this again. I really don’t know how,” Tang Guo said angrily. “You were the ones who insisted I treat him. Now that there’s a problem, you want to blame it on me.”
“Ah Guoguo, this time you really weren’t careful. Every time the High Priest treated injuries, he would have tribe members transform into their true forms to inspect the wounds,” Black Wolf said, as if explaining Ning Luo’s dissatisfaction.
Tang Guo shot him a glance. “I already said it. Don’t come to me for things like this again. I refused in the first place.” With that, she left.
Anyway, her revenge had been achieved. Now she would just wait to be betrayed.
System: This host, honestly.
Although Tang Guo returned to her dwelling, she had the System set up a live feed. She watched as Black Wolf held the blade and cut open Vigo’s already healed wounds, removing the stones, wood, and branches inside. The stones were easier to deal with and could be taken out fairly smoothly.
The branches and pieces of wood were not so easy. Every time one was removed, Vigo howled in pain. Just imagining a giant snake lying outside, rolling around and screaming, was incredibly amusing.
Listening to Vigo’s screams, Tang Guo chewed on her dried fruit, her mood wonderfully bright.
After everything inside his body was removed, Vigo was covered in wounds and in so much pain that he was half unconscious. Ning Luo held the massive snake head and kissed it tenderly. Seeing this scene, Tang Guo really could not hold it in and burst out laughing.
In the end, Black Wolf took some hemostatic herbs and applied them to Vigo’s wounds.
A few days passed, and Vigo’s wounds were still bleeding. This was because removing the branches and wood had caused severe tearing. Compared to the pain before, this was even worse.
