Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 601

Thinking of Song Ye’s threat, Song Shengrong really didn’t dare to do anything. He was no longer as high-spirited as he had been back in the day.

Finally, Song Ye took Tang Guo and left, completely ignoring the Song family.

“Second Brother has really fallen.” Song Rui tugged at his collar, a proud smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “Back then, anyone who saw Second Brother would offer a few words of praise, calling him a bright and hard-working young man.”

“Now, Second Brother has had all his edges worn away by fate. Grandpa, Grandma, you really don’t need to worry. Just look at him. Even if he returns to the capital, after being gone for so many years, he can’t keep up anymore. He didn’t even take the college entrance exam when it was reinstated back then, so I guess he gave up a long time ago.”

“Exactly. Since Second Brother likes staying in that remote place, just let him be.” Song Xuan curled her lips. “It’s probably because of some physical problem that he’s afraid to come back. A man who can’t have children, that’s really pitiful. Who knows if it’s just infertility or something more.”

Song Xuan’s words left the entire family with unreadable expressions.

“Yeah, I think that village girl is actually quite pretty. She doesn’t mind that Second Brother can’t have kids. Grandpa, Grandma, you really want him to come back? What daughter from any decent family in the capital would want to marry Second Brother? Especially when it would a second marriage. Isn’t that just delaying some poor girl’s future?”

The two elders of the Song family were swayed. That’s right. Especially with Song Ye clearly keeping his distance from them, looking at them like enemies. At least Song Qing would still give them a polite smile. But this wild child who grew up outside really wasn’t suited to return to the Song family.

If they brought him back, he might not be a grandson but an enemy. Especially since Song Ye had just brought up that incident, they were truly afraid he would come to settle scores with them. The death of the Yuan family’s eldest daughter really did have something to do with them.

After exchanging glances, the Song family abandoned the idea of reaching out to Song Ye again. From now on, they would treat him as if he no longer existed.

As for Song Qing, there was at least some blood relation. They could probably still get some benefits through her. No matter what, they were still Song Qing’s grandparents and her biological father.

Song Ye brought Tang Guo back to the villa, his expression still dark.

“Ah Ye, are you still angry?”

Song Ye reached out and pulled his little wife into his arms. Ever since his grandfather’s troubles and his mother’s death, he had received the most warmth from the Tang family, especially from his little wife, who had treated him incredibly well. And yet those disgusting people still dared to try and hurt him.

“I’ve long known what kind of people they are. I’m just angry on my mother’s behalf. They did so many terrible things and still don’t think they were wrong, even acting self-righteous. Now they want to use me to get at my sister.”

“Do you have a plan, Ah Ye?”

Song Ye raised his head and looked at the sweet smile of his little wife, then nodded. “Why should they get to live comfortably and guilt-free for the rest of their lives after angering my mother to death?”

“I’m going to make life difficult for them, leave them with nothing, let them see what they want but never get it. All they’ll be able to do is envy.”

“Don’t they care so much about the prestige of the Song family? I want to see the Song family fall. Isn’t Zhou Yafeng most proud of her two children? When we were little, she always compared them to me and my sister, constantly making veiled jabs at us in front of others. Everything she said was to make it sound like we didn’t acknowledge her as a stepmother, like we disrespected her. For years, the other kids in the compound would avoid me and my sister. It wasn’t until later that I found out it was the adults who taught them to do that, afraid we’d be a bad influence.”

“I’ll make Zhou Yafeng understand what true excellence looks like. Her precious children will never amount to anything. They’ll just be freeloaders, dependent on her their entire lives.”
