“Guo Guo, you and Xiao Ye have been married for over three years now, right?”
One day, during a family meal, Luo Chunli brought it up. “Now that the factory is on the right track, Xiao Ye has contracted the surrounding mountains, and the chicken farm out back has opened too. Shouldn’t you start thinking about having a child?”
[Host, they’re urging you to have a baby.] The system gloated. [After going through so many worlds, it really is rare to encounter someone urging you to have kids.] It was also a little curious to see how the host would handle it this time.
Tang Guo glanced at the worried-looking Luo Chunli, who seemed afraid that if she didn’t have children, Song Ye, such a good man, would run off. Tang Guo found it funny.
A child… sorry, but even if this body was physically normal, it would still be impossible because of her parasitic soul.
She didn’t have strong feelings about children. If the original host had any, she would raise them well, but if not, then so be it. Even though she loved deep and pure emotions, she was still more emotionally detached than most people.
Still, people in this era, both men and women, probably cared a lot about having children.
She glanced at Song Ye. Song Ye was also watching his little wife. The two of them held each other’s gaze for a while. Luo Chunli realized she was wasting her breath. She had worried that without children, their marriage wouldn’t last and the man would stray. But seeing the two exchanging affectionate looks right in front of her, she knew she had worried for nothing.
That evening, Song Ye, now Factory Director Song, as usual, brought hot water to the bedside for his little wife to soak her feet. As for what Luo Chunli said about having kids earlier, the moment he saw his wife, it slipped his mind entirely.
His wife was already like a child and needed his pampering. If they had another little one, it would surely wear her out.
“Ah Ye.”
“Guo Guo, what is it?”
Tang Guo’s lips curved as she asked, “Do you want children?”
Song Ye didn’t quite understand the implication but answered honestly, “Actually… just having you is enough for me.” He truly felt that way. The thought of a little brat taking up Guo Guo’s time, and her no longer looking only at him, made him feel especially uneasy.
“I see…” Tang Guo smiled. “If I never have a child in this life, would you regret it?” She asked seriously. She wouldn’t be able to have children. If Song Ye really wanted one, she had no right to deprive someone of the chance to be a father.
She genuinely liked Song Ye. This man was pure and touched her heart. She wouldn’t give up on someone like him unless she had no choice.
But some things had to be considered. If he truly wanted a biological child, she would be powerless to help. She wouldn’t stop him, nor would she let him give up being a father just for her.
If he chose to have a biological child, she could only step aside.
If he didn’t insist, then they could live a peaceful life together.
“Guo Guo, is there something wrong with your health?” Song Ye’s expression changed slightly. His first thought wasn’t about the child, but that his little wife might have an illness. He jumped up in panic and pulled her into his arms. “We’ll go to the hospital tomorrow and get it checked.”
“I don’t like children. I only want Guo Guo.” Song Ye quickly added, afraid she’d be upset. He was being honest. In his heart, there was no room for a second person, even if it might be his own child.
He couldn’t imagine a future where the little wife who only had eyes for him would one day split her gaze and affections with someone else.
