“I am very curious. His ears are so red, what is he thinking about?” Tang Guo communicated with the system. “This guy really never fixes his old habits.”
System: Hehe, isn’t it all because you teased him.
“The day after tomorrow, I have time. Head Steward, go select some items. When accompanying the Imperial Consort back home the day after tomorrow, bring them along.”
Tang Guo did not stay long with Jing Cheng, because a palace attendant came to report that Nan Yunchuan wanted to see her.
Thinking of this person, she decided to go and meet him.
Noticing that the smile on Jing Cheng’s face had faded, she laughed inwardly and stood up. She was about to step out, but then walked back to Jing Cheng’s side.
Jing Cheng did not quite understand. In truth, he did feel a bit uncomfortable.
The Empress was truly outstanding, but she was the Empress. She could not belong to him alone.
“Imperial Consort.”
“Your Majesty, if you are busy, you should go.” Jing Cheng sighed inwardly. If the Empress continued treating him this well, he would not be able to stop himself from truly liking her.
Tang Guo tugged at Jing Cheng’s sleeve. “Imperial Consort, why are you suddenly unhappy?”
“Your Majesty, I…”
“Is it because I am going to see Nan Yunchuan?”
Jing Cheng could not speak. If he denied it, that would be deceiving the ruler. If he admitted it, that would mean he was jealous. For a moment, he truly did not know what to say.
“Imperial Consort, you do not need to mind. The only one I care about is you.”
Tang Guo lifted her chin and looked at Jing Cheng’s face, speaking seriously. “Imperial Consort, you will understand in the future.” She released his sleeve. “Do not be unhappy. If there is a good sword manual, I will have someone deliver it to you.”
After saying that, Tang Guo finally left.
At the moment the Empress tugged at him, Jing Cheng’s heart beat rapidly.
At that time, he had an impulse to pull her into his arms.
In the end, he restrained himself, because she was the Empress. Thinking of this made Jing Cheng feel somewhat annoyed. However, the words the Empress had said did ease the discomfort in his heart.
So the Empress had been explaining to him why she was going to see Nan Yunchuan?
It was not because she cared about Nan Yunchuan, but because of other reasons?
Thinking of this, Jing Cheng found it a bit unbelievable. The Empress’s thoughts were becoming harder and harder to understand.
“Imperial Consort, will you continue practicing swordsmanship?”
The people in Jing Cheng’s palace all knew his habits. Whenever he had nothing to do, he would practice swordsmanship. Now that the Empress had left, according to his temperament, he would surely immerse himself in sword practice again.
But this time, Jing Cheng waved his hand. “No more.”
Jing Cheng suddenly recalled the scene he had just witnessed in the garden and said, “I will paint today.”
The image in his mind would not fade no matter what, making him want to paint it.
The palace attendants did not understand, but they still followed Jing Cheng’s instructions.
On the other side, not long after Tang Guo left Jing Cheng’s palace, she met Nan Yunchuan waiting in the Imperial Garden.
“Your Majesty.” When Nan Yunchuan saw Tang Guo, he quickly cupped his hands and bowed. Only after Tang Guo told him to rise did he straighten up, his peach blossom eyes fixed intently on her.
He hesitated for a moment before asking, “Your Majesty, were you just at the Imperial Consort’s place?”
“Mm.” Tang Guo responded. “What does Yunchuan want with me?”
Seeing the faint smile at the corner of Tang Guo’s lips, Nan Yunchuan felt much more at ease. “Yunchuan came to thank Your Majesty. Many thanks to Your Majesty for allowing Yunchuan to return home to visit family.”
Tang Guo nodded. “How is your father?”
“He has improved greatly. Thank you for Your Majesty’s concern.” Nan Yunchuan paused before continuing, “Last time I heard that Your Majesty likes flower tea, so Yunchuan prepared quite a lot.”
