Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 865

Fang Tianshi’s conversation with Fang Yunchi was witnessed by Tang Guo and Qin Jiu from a short distance away.

When Fang Yunchi’s worldview shattered, the corner of Tang Guo’s lips lifted. She looked especially pleased. That smile carried a trace of wicked delight, filled with a sense of vengeance. Qin Jiu happened to catch a glimpse of it and was utterly captivated.

“Fang Yunchi’s cultivation is ruined,” Qin Jiu said. “Once his Dao heart is broken, he won’t be able to advance any further in this life. He won’t even be able to catch ghosts anymore.”

Of course, Fang Yunchi had brought this upon himself.

Qin Jiu tightened his hold on Tang Guo’s hand. “Guo Guo, let me take you shopping. There should be new dresses in the mall this month.”

“Alright.” Tang Guo sensed the fear and reluctance in his heart and wrapped her arms around his waist. “Don’t be afraid. You’ll meet me in the next life. As long as you behave and don’t make mistakes, we can still be together.”

Qin Jiu laughed helplessly and touched her cheek. “I will try my best not to make mistakes.” He was afraid that without memories in the next life, he might truly hurt her. What if he ended up standing on the opposite side of her? Would there be no possibility then?

Qin Jiu took Tang Guo to the mall and personally selected the most beautiful dresses for her. After all these years with her, his taste had become increasingly refined.

He no longer needed her guidance to create perfect combinations.

The sales assistants were always amazed at how skillfully he chose and matched outfits.

They were already familiar with this Daoist-robed man. He came to their mall every time to buy beautiful clothes.

But they had never seen a woman by his side.

They had once asked who he was buying these beautiful clothes for.

He had given them a warm smile. “My wife.”

When he spoke of his wife, the tenderness and affection on his face truly warmed their hearts.

They did not know that the wife he spoke of was standing right beside him, watching him with focused and devoted eyes.

He loved her gaze.

In those beautiful eyes, he could clearly see that there was only him.

That gaze made him sink, intoxicated and unwilling to ever wake from it.

When she said she had to leave, he could tell from her tone that she truly had no choice.

He bought many clothes and burned them for her at her grave. Watching the outfits change on her, he smiled sincerely. Seeing her happy made him happy too.

A little more than a year later, Tang Guo left this world.

When she left, Qin Jiu was meditating in cultivation.

He opened his eyes and felt emptiness beside him. His heart felt empty as well. That familiar presence was gone.

He sat on the hillside, staring at the endless mountain peaks in the distance, lost in thought.

Later, he closed his eyes again and continued cultivating.

When he occasionally went out to travel, he would intervene whenever he encountered innocent girls being abducted. He would simply hand them over to the police, then leave behind a solitary figure.

Gradually, people noticed that the mysterious female ghost had disappeared, but a Daoist who liked to meddle in such matters had appeared instead.

They said this Daoist was a demon-catching Daoist. Countless people had been saved by him.

For decades afterward, his presence could still be found.

Once, a girl he had rescued looked at Qin Jiu with admiration. As he turned to leave, she asked, “Why won’t you give me a chance?”
