The Supporting Female Character Refuses to be Cannon Fodder Chapter 173

Wu You slapped Qin Fen’s hand away. “Stop getting handsy. I’m talking to Hui Ge. Why are you butting in?”

Wu You had a fiery temper and was used to bickering with Qin Fen. She glared at him, and he deliberately teased her.

“Look at what you’re wearing. Do you look like a girl? It’s always gray or black.”

No matter how much a person changed, some traits remained. Even after drifting as a soul for years in his previous life, Qin Fen’s flirtatious mouth had not changed. If you added up his previous life’s age, he could qualify to be Wu You’s grandfather.

Wu You bared her teeth at him. “Mind your own business. If you don’t like looking, don’t look. And if you’ve got the guts, don’t come to me when you can’t solve a problem. You’re picky enough. I haven’t even complained that you split me from Hui Ge.”

That hit his weak spot. Academics were Qin Fen’s Achilles’ heel, and Wu You struck accurately every time. She flicked her ponytail. “Hmph. Little underachiever. I look down on you.”

Knowing they were only trading jabs, Jiang Chan did not intervene. Over the past few months, all her energy had gone into the robotics competition. The other four competitions had been set aside, and she needed to catch up.

She was currently holding a physics competition problem set. In competitions, practice problems were indispensable. Only by mastering them could one stay calm on the field.

Money did not solve everything, but it solved most things. Qin Fen worked efficiently. Every student gathered at the school gate and boarded the bus he had arranged.

Within twenty minutes, they arrived at Sheng Tang.

Sheng Tang was one of the city’s high end seafood buffet restaurants. The ingredients were fresh, and many banquets were held there.

Even with so many students pouring in, they only occupied one corner of the hall. Jiang Chan avoided the crowd, took what she liked, and settled into a quiet corner.

After circling the restaurant, Qin Fen finally found her behind a potted plant. A pile of shrimp shells sat before her, and her hands kept moving.

Perhaps because life in the orphanage had been frugal and she had rarely eaten shrimp, she particularly liked them. Now in a seafood buffet, she intended to eat her fill.

Not far away, Song Miao stared at her hands.

She remembered that Jiang Yuhui did not like seafood. Why was that habit gone in this life?

Watching Jiang Yuhui eat with obvious enjoyment, Song Miao felt everything was off. She bit her lip and suddenly turned away.

She remembered Jiang Yuhui was allergic to peanuts. At the sushi counter, she deliberately selected several pieces containing peanut sauce and took a glass of orange juice before walking toward Jiang Chan.

At that moment, Jiang Chan was alone. Qin Fen had gone elsewhere for food.

Song Miao placed the sushi in front of her. “Jiang Yuhui, I just got these. They look good. Want to try?”

Jiang Chan sniffed lightly. “Is that peanut sauce? Sorry, I’m allergic to peanuts. You can have it yourself.”

The last shrimp on her plate was finished. She stood up with her tray and left, leaving Song Miao seated there, her expression shifting.

What was going on?

Her test had confirmed the peanut allergy. But why did he now enjoy seafood?

Song Miao stared at Jiang Chan’s back, confused.

After walking a few steps, Jiang Chan steadied her heartbeat. She had not expected Song Miao to try this.

Without the original owner’s memories, she might have revealed something.

Everyone was not to be underestimated. If you treated others like fools, you were the fool.

She walked toward the seafood she had selected earlier. The original owner had not eaten seafood. Jiang Chan had not known that, but she did know about the peanut allergy from the original owner’s memories.

After that class gathering, Qin Fen’s popularity soared. Not only because of the meal, but because of his personality.

Jiang Chan continued preparing steadily for her competitions. Yet Song Miao’s probing glances unsettled her.

Perhaps it was not wise to let Song Miao linger around. Jiang Chan considered giving her something to occupy her time.

Before she acted, Song Miao was removed from the experimental class.

Decades had passed since Song Miao had been in school in her previous life. Her days had been spent indulging herself. The knowledge she once learned had long been forgotten.

Her grades ranked at the bottom. The experimental class had strict elimination rules. Two consecutive last place rankings meant removal.

Unfortunately for her, she had placed last in both the midterm and the second monthly exam.

The homeroom teacher wasted no time transferring her to another class once results were released.

He had long sensed her ill intentions. Removing her felt like clearing the air.

Wu You was the happiest.

After class, she even joked with Qin Fen. He spoke with her briefly, then turned to Jiang Chan with mock horror. “Did she take the wrong medicine? She’s actually being gentle to me today.”

Before Jiang Chan could reply, Wu You’s sinister voice sounded behind him. “So you’re that kind of person. I talk nicely and you say I took the wrong medicine?”

Her good mood evaporated. The two began pinching and tugging at each other again.

Watching them, Jiang Chan’s lips curved slightly.

Qin Fen might act carefree, but he did not let just anyone get close. Only Wu You could casually pinch his arm or smack his back.

If he had no thoughts at all, Jiang Chan would never believe it.

Wu You was too young to understand, but Qin Fen, having lived through one lifetime already, certainly did.

Thinking about it, was this not a kind of raising a future wife?

Considering his combined age, he could almost be Wu You’s grandfather.

Shameless old cow eating young grass.
