Seeing how certain Qin Jiu was, the others felt he had gone blind with infatuation, bewitched by a female ghost.
But none of them dared speak ill of her. She was a member of the Tang family, and the Tang family carried heavy karma. No one wanted to invite trouble over a careless remark.
“She won’t kill that boy Fang, will she?”
Qin Jiu answered firmly, “As long as Fang Yunchi doesn’t cross her bottom line, like Fang Tianshi did, she won’t kill him. As for what she’ll do to him, I don’t know.”
What kind of answer was that?
Knowing that Fang Yunchi’s life was not in danger, they stopped worrying.
Qin Jiu might not be warmhearted, but he was principled. When he said something, he meant it. He rarely lied.
They were curious how strong the female ghost was, but none of them intended to watch the spectacle.
Seeing that Qin Jiu seemed in a good mood, they chatted with him about Tang Guo. They soon noticed that whenever her name was mentioned, his face would light up with a smile.
Meanwhile, Fang Yunchi chased after Tang Guo and watched her enter the village. When he reached the open square in the center, he immediately felt the yin energy was overwhelming. Looking closely, he saw that the area was filled with wandering souls, and he instinctively drew his sword to cut them down.
At that moment, Tang Guo stepped out of a house and smiled at him. He sensed that something was wrong.
When he tried to rush toward the little ghosts, he finally understood what was wrong.
A ghost stood right before him. With one strike, he could have made it vanish completely.
But his sword struck something like a transparent barrier and could not move forward.
He tried to charge through but found he could not pass the invisible obstruction.
Ning Xiangsi reached out and pushed as well, only to discover that what blocked them was a transparent wall.
“We can’t get through, Brother Fang.”
“The ghost’s cultivation is high. She’s cast a ghost wall on us. Let me think of a way.”
Tang Guo burst into laughter at the words “ghost wall.” “This is not a ghost wall. Fang Yunchi, you were half-baked two years ago, and you’re still half-baked now. Don’t you even recognize a barrier?”
A ghost wall? He really came up with that.
“A barrier?” Fang Yunchi’s face changed. “Impossible!” Even his master could not set up a legendary barrier. How could a ghost who had only existed for a few years know how to create one?
He refused to believe it.
“I don’t have time to waste words with you. Not only can you not come over, you also can’t leave. Stay there until I finish what I need to do.”
“Weren’t you going to stop me? Uphold justice? Eliminate evil?”

After speaking, Tang Guo ignored him and turned to the little ghosts with a smile. She took out a Soul-Consolidating Pill. “Come here. Condense your soul forms, then go find the ones who killed you. Whoever harmed you, take your revenge. If they did not harm you, leave them alone. Once you’ve avenged yourselves, I will help you transcend and send you to reincarnation.”
From the corner of her eye, she saw Fang Yunchi’s eyes redden. “You’re very angry, aren’t you? I call this acting on heaven’s behalf. They are only avenging their own enemies.”
“You are unreasonable.”
“Why is it that you, Fang Yunchi, can avenge your master, but these ghosts cannot avenge themselves?”
“Tang Guo, you will suffer heavenly punishment for this.”
