Transmigrated Canon Fodder, Please Calm Down! Chapter 653

“High Priest, what’s wrong?” Tang Guo asked knowingly, raising her hand and waving it in front of Yin Yao’s face.

Yin Yao’s chaotic thoughts finally settled down. He glanced at her lightly and said, “Nothing. I still have herbs to handle. Ah Guoguo, go play.”

After saying that, he turned to go inside.

He had only taken two steps before realizing something was off. Looking back, he saw the little female still following behind him. “Ah Guoguo, you can go play now.”

“High Priest, I don’t want to play.”

Yin Yao: “…”

“Then go back to your place and sleep.”

“I don’t want to sleep either.”

Yin Yao frowned. “Then what do you want to do?”

“I want to watch the High Priest,” Tang Guo said pitifully. “High Priest, you know I’m sick. If I don’t see you, I feel uncomfortable. You can work on your herbs, I won’t bother you. I’ll just sit on the side and watch, it won’t affect you.”

How could it not affect him??

Inwardly, Yin Yao was shouting. With her watching from the side, how could he possibly focus on working with the herbs?

But… he said, “Suit yourself.” And immediately regretted it. Why had he agreed to such an unreasonable request from this little female?

Seeing her wide-eyed, looking so cute and obedient, he thought, forget it, let her watch.

The two of them went together to the space behind the stone house. Many herbs were drying here, and with beastmen getting injured every day, the consumption of herbs was high.

Especially with this year’s beast tide approaching, the stock of herbs might not be enough. Yin Yao counted the herbs and said, “Starting tomorrow, we need to gather more herbs.”

When he said this, his expression was truly serious.

Counting the days, the beast tide really wasn’t far off. By then, who knew how many members of the Lado Tribe would survive. It was a heavy topic, and he stopped thinking about it, crouching down to work on the herbs.

Tang Guo sat cross-legged to the side, watching him work.

From time to time, Yin Yao found it unbearable to be stared at so intently. When he looked up, he caught the little female gazing at him with bright, focused eyes. He almost knocked over a pile of herbs.

This Ah Guoguo!

Too mischievous.

Every time he looked up, she was sitting there obediently, gazing at him with those eager eyes. In the end, Yin Yao stopped looking up at all. Once he focused, he soon forgot she was even there.

Tang Guo didn’t mind. She loved watching cute people work seriously. There was a special charm to such people that drew others in.

She liked serious people.

Yin Yao worked like that for half a day. When he finally looked up, he instinctively glanced at where Tang Guo had been sitting, only to find she was gone.

He smiled faintly and shook his head. As expected, still a child. She must have gotten restless and gone to play. For some reason, though, he felt a faint sense of loss, but he ignored it.

He stood up, feeling a bit hungry, and prepared to eat some fruit to fill his stomach.

But as he walked into the stone house, a delicious smell drifted in from outside.

Planning to bite into a piece of fruit, he couldn’t resist stepping outside instead. There he saw the little female cooking. She had a rack set up for roasting meat, the fragrance of sizzling, golden-brown meat wafting in the air, glistening with oil. It smelled wonderful and looked like it would taste even better.

Yin Yao forced his gaze away from the food and onto Tang Guo. “Ah Guoguo, what are you making?”
