Tang Guo heard this and turned to look at Yin Yao, her expression serious. “High Priest, why do you ask that? Are you curious?”
System: The host is so bad.
Yin Yao was momentarily at a loss for words. Yes, why did he ask? Was it curiosity? Maybe it was. No, he was the High Priest. How could he admit that he asked out of curiosity?
“No.”
Even though he was wrapped in beast hide, standing at the entrance of the stone house, he looked aloof and composed, as if to say, “How could I possibly be curious.” Tang Guo nearly burst out laughing.
What a closet romantic.
Yin Yao vaguely felt that something was off. There was a look in the little female’s eyes, like she didn’t believe him. He even thought he saw a glimmer of amusement in them, as if she’d seen right through him.
But it was too quick. He convinced himself it was just an illusion. It had to be. How could this little female possibly have the nerve to mock him?
“Then why?”
The little female looked at Yin Yao with bright, curious eyes. He nearly lost control and almost blurted out that he was just curious. But he forced it down and refused to admit it.
“Ah Guoguo.” He called her name seriously, with a solemn tone.
“Here,” Tang Guo replied with a sweet smile, looking exceptionally obedient.
Yin Yao had intended to keep a stern face, but faced with such a sweet little female, he couldn’t hold it. His expression softened, and he even had the urge to smile. He furrowed his brows slightly, feeling a little uneasy with this unfamiliar feeling.
“Gaien already has a mate.”
Yin Yao couldn’t maintain a strict expression and tried his best to keep his face neutral.
He had intended to sound stern and warning, but when he looked at her, his voice softened without him noticing. “Unless Gaien is abandoned by his mate, you shouldn’t be watching him every day or having any thoughts about him.”
Pfft.
The system couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing. The host was right. This guy really was a closet romantic.
If she weren’t worried about startling Yin Yao, Tang Guo would’ve laughed out loud too. This man was kind of cute. He had actually gone around in circles just to express that he didn’t want her interacting with other males. Promising.
Yin Yao saw that Tang Guo was still dazed and his expression turned a bit more serious. He tapped her forehead with his finger. “Ah Guoguo, did you hear what I said?”
“I heard you, High Priest,” Tang Guo replied with a smile. “I’ll listen to you. Whatever you say, I’ll do.”
System: Oh no, I can’t take it. The host has completely thrown away her dignity.
Yin Yao opened his mouth but didn’t know what to say. The little female in front of him was so obedient and sweet. Especially that sentence, “I’ll listen to you. Whatever you say, I’ll do.” It struck him right in the heart, giving him a feeling he couldn’t quite grasp.
“As long as you understand.”
His instincts told him not to think about it any further. This was just a little female who hadn’t come of age yet, a slightly mischievous one at that.
“Remember, don’t look at Gaien again.” He added another reminder. Since he’d already said it once, saying it again wouldn’t hurt.
Tang Guo stepped closer to Yin Yao and flashed him a sweet smile. “Alright, High Priest. I won’t look at Gaien anymore.”
“Mm, Ah Guoguo is so well-behaved.” Yin Yao thought he had achieved his goal and was quite pleased with himself. He didn’t expect that the little female wasn’t done speaking.
She blinked at him and said, “High Priest, I won’t look at Gaien anymore. From now on, I’ll only look at you. What do you think?”
Yin Yao was dazzled by her smile. His mind was filled with the words, “Only look at you, only look at you,” spinning in circles.
