“Oh.”
Tang Guo stood still, glanced at Ning Luo, lifted her chin slightly, and asked with a very haughty air, “Why are you calling me?”
Ning Luo’s warm smile froze. Just now she saw this girl come out of the stone house with a cheerful expression, didn’t she? All she did was say one sentence, was that worth acting so arrogant?
“Can I get to know you?” Ning Luo glanced at the strong, burly women in the distance, then looked back at Tang Guo’s slender figure and limbs. Although her skin wasn’t exactly fair, her figure combined with her face was truly beautiful. So beautiful it made Ning Luo a little jealous. She only had the advantage of being paler.
Rather than trying to talk to those fierce-looking women, clearly this little girl seemed much easier to approach.
Tang Guo still had that haughty expression, like a little princess. “Why would you want to know me?” Her attitude seemed to say: What makes you worthy of knowing me?
The members of the tribe who noticed the situation nearby shook their heads with amused smiles. In the entire tribe, Ah Guoguo’s temper was only slightly better than that of the High Priest. She feared no one except the High Priest, and no one else dared to mess with her.
As for why Ah Guoguo had this kind of standing, it was because her parents had sacrificed themselves to protect the tribe. Everyone was more tolerant of her. Even if her looks didn’t conform to the beastmen’s standards of beauty.
Actually, that was just the other females’ opinion. The males in the tribe all especially liked Ah Guoguo’s type. But Ah Guoguo wasn’t someone you could just win over through fighting or duels.
In this tribe, females had the right to choose their mates, especially someone with Ah Guoguo’s background.
If any male dared to force her, the High Priest would be the first to make them pay.
The previous chief of the tribe was Ah Guoguo’s father. Even if her parents hadn’t died for the tribe, her status would still be higher than most others, unless someone was a hero who had made great contributions to the tribe.
The cave she lived in had been left to her by her parents. No one dared to lay claim to it.
Ning Luo was at a loss for words in the face of Tang Guo’s response. This girl was just too arrogant, exactly like those spoiled little princesses she’d seen in modern times who were pampered by their parents.
“Just wanted to get to know you, maybe be friends.”
Ning Luo said dryly. She was already sensing that this girl was not easy to get along with. But after glancing at the other members of the tribe, she really didn’t want to talk to any of those especially ugly women, who were also glaring at her while she spoke.
Not only did they have soft bellies and thick necks, their limbs were rough and coarse. More importantly, no one in this world wore shoes, or rather, there were no shoes.
Those women’s feet looked particularly unpleasant, and there was even mud between their toes.
Ning Luo quickly looked away and glanced again at Tang Guo standing nearby. Even though her skin wasn’t pale, this girl clearly took good care of herself. Her feet were small and clean.
Tang Guo noticed the disdain in Ning Luo’s eyes toward the other tribe members and found it amusing. Did Ning Luo really think this place was some big city?
This was a primitive, backward tribe in the ancient world, and a beastman tribe at that. How could they possibly live like humans? Even if they wanted to change, it would take time.
“I don’t want to be friends with you.”
Tang Guo left her with that one sentence, turned around, and went straight into the cave without giving Ning Luo the slightest bit of face. She and Ning Luo could never be friends. She even complained to the system, “If we become friends, how would I carry out the next part of the plot?”
System: Host = Devil!
